I went to a tiny remembrance service outside the library in our village. I was delighted to see that my two grandsons had been chosen by the school to attend. They looked a little bewildered but the traffic stopped the shops closed their doors and the staff came outside. The workmen repairing the road stopped to bow their heads. A tiny bunch of people gave a moving rendition of Jerusalem and I was moved and proud.
